Update regarding the 2026 Legacy 100

TLDR: The 2026 Legacy 100 will be rescheduled for Saturday May 30, 2026 to avoid conflict with other great events and to ensure greater participation. Refunds will be offered for those who can’t make the new date.

What’s Changing
Only the date. The ride is moving from Saturday 05/23/2026 to Saturday 05/30/2026.
Rollout times stay the same:

  • 6:45am briefing / 7:00am rollout
  • 7:45am briefing / 8:00am rollout

Riders may start at either time. Meal service and finish‑line activities close at 5pm.
All other details—venue, routes, giveaways, etc.—remain unchanged.

Why the Date Is Changing
We avoid scheduling our ride within two hours of another event to ensure we’re not pulling riders or donations away from fellow charity events. When we originally chose 05/23, there were no conflicts within a four‑hour radius.

Later, FIFA scheduled an event in Houston on the same day as Major Taylor Houston’s Summer Sizzle charity ride. As a proud member of Major Taylor San Antonio, I didn’t feel right holding our event so close to the one my brothers and sisters in H-Town were hosting. I also learned that our friends at 210 Cycle Riderz have their annual all‑club anniversary celebration that day, which would prevent most of them from joining us.

Changing the date may inconvenience a few people—including me—but it supports our partner clubs, avoids competition for charity dollars, and ultimately benefits the cycling community. Plus, it frees up your Memorial Day weekend.

If You Can’t Make the New Date
Because this is a discretionary change, full refunds for the 2026 ride are available upon request through Saturday 01/31/2026. After that, no refunds will be issued.

You may also transfer your registration to someone else at no cost (same or lower distance; higher distances pay the difference). Transfers are accepted through Wednesday 05/27/2026 by emailing thelegacy100ride@gmail.com with:

  • Your first/last name and email
  • Your friend’s first/last name and email

If you are signed up to volunteer and cannot do so with the date change, please let me know ASAP! That being said, I hope all our amazing volunteers can still support this great event!

If you haven’t signed up to ride and/or volunteer for this year’s ride yet, do so before 02/02/2026 to get the early bird pricing: https://runsignup.com/Race/TX/Schulenburg/Legacy100 .

Looking Ahead
The 2025 inaugural ride exceeded our every expectation, and together you raised $17,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association through Ride to End ALZ Texas. Both I and the Ride to End ALZ leadership were thrilled. This year we’re leveling up: a better venue with another painted church, a local food vendor for the post‑ride meal, medals and stickers in progress, and Team Taco Cycling Club graciously stepping up to mark the courses (eliminating a pain point from last year).

Thank you for your understanding and continued support. I can’t wait to see everyone at the 2026 Legacy 100 as we ride to #ENDALZ!

Respectfully,

Joshua
